Nye County Commissioner Leo Blundo Accused of Misconduct

Nye County Commmissioner Leo Blundo says he's innocent after his arrest on alleged misconduct charges. Blundo made a media appearance Sunday, saying there's nothing to the charges -- and he's done nothing wrong. Commissioner Blundo says he had to pay a $2400 bail to be released from custody. He also announced Sunday that he'll be running for re-election to his county commission seat in 2022.

Governor Sisolak Initiates Strict Restrictions

Governor Steve Sisolak held a press briefing yesterday to announce new restrictions in the effort to curb the spread of the Coronavirus in Nevada. He said that although he was recently diagnosed with the virus, he is feeling well and so far has no symptoms. Sisolak outlined the restrictions, which he is calling a pause, all underscored with strict social distancing and mask guidelines. He stressed that he was not going to be initiating a shut down but strict rules on everything from restaurants to public gatherings. Governor Sisolak said that hospitals are experiencing staff shortages while beds are filling at an alarming rate. 13 of 17 counties are currently flagged for elevated risk of transmission and Nevada has passed 2000 deaths.

News 25 Spoke with Districe Attorney Chris Arabia about the Trial of Cole Engelson

One of the most followed cases in Pahrump for the past few years has been the murder of 3 year old Yessenia Camp. Cole Engleson was arrested for the murder of his former girlfriends daughter on July 15, 2017 and was recently tried and found guilty. Engleson will be sentensed on February 1st and could receive a sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. News 25 spoke with District Attorney Chris Arabia about the trial. Joy to the Vets! The Pre-Show

On November 14th The Pahrump Valley Museum and Historical Society held a fundraiser for Veterans and the Museum. The event featured live music, a car show and raffles and served as a warm up event for an even bigger fundraiser coming up in December. Bryan Scott spoke to News 25 about the most recent event.
