The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation wants to increase the rate businesses pay into the state's unemployment insurance fund. Right now, it's one-point-six-five percent. And, at a hearing Friday, DETR made its case for increasing that rate to two percent. State Assemblyman Gregory Hafen II is opposed to any increase. He says it's not necessary, and instead, would prefer to crack down on unemployment fraud.
