Earlier this week, I had an opportunity to sit down and talk with Judge Kent Jasperson. Judge Jasperson wanted a chance to respond to an interview that we aired here on KPVM with District Attorney Chris Arabia. The DA was providing an update on the murder of Roy Jaggers, and speaking about the preliminary hearing in Pahrump Justice Court involving the three defendants -- Heather Pate, Kevin Dent and Brad Mehn. In that interview, Arabia made a comment stating “..it was unusual, it did concern me...” in regards to Judge Jasperson's decision to end the hearing after only a portion of evidence was presented and send the case on to district court. But Judge Jasperson says it's not a unique situation.
