Dozens of Nye County businesses have applied for funding through the county's CARES Act working capital program. Most have turned in the required documentation. But it turns out 30 percent of those businesses have incomplete agreements -- effectively putting them in breach of their contract. To combat this problem, Nye County Grant Administrator Samantha Kramer appeared before county commissioners, seeking approval to update the Nye County CARES Act Policy. Commissioners voted to approve the proposed changes to the Nye County CARES Act Policy. Commissioner Leo Blundo -- a small business owner who has applied for CARES Act funding -- chose to abstain from the vote.
