China Ranch Date Farm, just south of Tecopa, has begun to recover from wildfires that caused significant damage to portions of the farm. Travis Brown says the first fire ignited Friday, April 16 as the result of someone using fireworks. It burned several acres. But the second fire, a few days later, grew much larger. And that's the one that caused the most damage. As Brown mentioned, despite the wildfires, and the fact that portions of the area are still an active fire scene, China Ranch Date Farm remains open for business.
