In addition to this weekend's Balloon Festival, there's another big event happening in Pahrump. The Wild West Extravaganza starts Friday. This year, like the Balloon Festival, it's in a new location -- the Pahrump Valley Museum. Laurie McCaslin says they hope to make the museum a permanent home for the annual event. This year's Wild West Extravaganza will include a blacksmith demonstration, art show, horse and burro adoptions through the BLM, vendors, food and music -- and, of course, the fan-favorite melodrama. It's an outdoor event, and it's totally free. Just keep in mind that COVID restrictions will apply. So keep the masks handy. Hours are Friday and Saturday, 9 to 7 and Sunday, 9 to 4. For more information, including the schedule for the melodrama, visit them on Facebook, at Pahrump Wild West Extravaganza.
