It's been a year now since COVID-19 began spreading through long-term care facilities in the US. Since then, 170,000 people have died in those facilities. But since December, long-term care facilities have seen a dramatic drop in the number of new COVID cases -- and deaths. President and CEO of the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living, Mark Parkinson, says that's encouraging news for facilities -- and their residents.
