The Bob Ruud Community Center in Pahrump is getting a makeover. Thanks to an $8,000 grant, Bryce Chisholm, an artist from Reno, is painting a new mural on the south side of the building. The messaging 'stay safe to stay open' is part of the grant criteria and will be clearly visible as part of the artwork. Pahrump Tourism has long considered a mural trail. Tourism Director Arlette Ledbetter says the community center mural can be considered the inaugural project, with future projects and grants to follow. And one last thing worth mentioning -- the grant required the project to be completed by December 30. Unfortunately, no local artists were able to meet that deadline.
