Girls with Autism are Diagnosed Later than Boys

About one in every fifty-nine U. S. children are diangosed with autism spectrum disorder. Now a recent study shows, on average, girls are typically diagnosed about a year and a half later than boys. Doctor Veena Ahuja from Cleveland Clinic Children's, did not take part in the study, but says girls are likely diagnosed later because autism traits are often more subtle.
