A phase 3 clinical trial is underway for a possible vaccine for COVID-19. The vaccine was co-developed by biotech company Moderna, Inc. and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases -- part of the National Institutes of Health. The trial is expected to enroll 30,000 adult volunteers who do not have COVID-19. Doctor Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, explains the clinical trial process and when we might expect to see a safe and effective vaccine for COVID-19.
