The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act of 1987 is a federal law that provides federal money for homeless shelter programs. Linda Fitzgibbons is the homeless liaison for the Nye County School District. She says money from the McKinney-Vento Act is helping more than three hundred students in the district. And the need right now is greater than ever.
