Non-Profit Wants To Build Pahrump Housing For Homeless Veterans

A non-profit organization based in Las Vegas has big plans for Pahrump. The POLE Foundation wants to help homeless veterans, by building what they're calling a home and livelihood facility on property that, right now, belongs to the Salvation Army. POLE is an acronym for Productivity, Opportunity, Livelihood and Education. Angelito Duran and Leo Fortuno presented their plans to a group of interested community members at the Salvation Army on Buol Road. The POLE Foundation hopes to have the new home and livelihood facility up and running within three years. Duran says right now, they're seeking funding to help them purchase the Salvation Army property, which encompasses about five acres. Meantime, he says they're open to looking at other possible locations in Pahrump, as long as it meets their needs.
