There is a public protest at the Pahrump Community Library whose board is considering banning guns inside the children’s library reading room. This came about in October when an adult female was enjoying the reading room with her younger sister. The woman was wearing a open carry holstered firearm. The library in the following days installed signs saying no guns or dangerous weapons allowed in the child reading area. The item was also put on the Library Board meeting being considered this morning. Many people are speaking against the item and several in favor of the item being passed. County Commissioner John Koenig says considering this item is against the board’s open meeting law.
